ProbGoal Analysis · Pre-draw

Seven places left: the Champions League field is still 29/36

Four play-off ties are level, three have a first-leg leader, and every remaining place will be decided before the 27 August league-phase draw.

The 2026/27 league-phase field is almost complete, but not complete enough to pretend the draw is already known. Twenty-nine clubs are confirmed and seven places remain open across the play-offs.

Four ties are still completely level

Levski Sofia–AEK Athens ended 0–0, GNK Dinamo–Viking 2–2, Fenerbahçe–Lyon 1–1 and Slovan Bratislava–Celje 1–1. In those four ties, the second leg starts without an aggregate leader.

Three clubs carry an aggregate advantage

Hapoel Beer-Sheva lead Sabah by one goal, Celtic take a three-goal advantage to LASK, and Bodø/Glimt lead N.E.C. by two. Those are scoreline advantages, not ProbGoal qualification probabilities: the site deliberately does not convert the first-leg score into an invented percentage without a validated play-off model.

Why this matters for ProbGoal

The final seven clubs can change the pot composition, association constraints and the set of legal opponents available to every confirmed club. That is why the tournament forecast remains locked: the uncertainty is real and should be represented as uncertainty, not filled with placeholders.

The next meaningful information arrives before the league-phase draw itself: first the final seven clubs, then the pots and official draw procedure. ProbGoal will treat each of those as a data gate rather than guess ahead of them.
